The Bosnian Serb Republic gross domestic product (GDP) reached KM 8.243bn (EUR 4.215bn) in 2009, down from the revised KM 8,489bn posted in 2008, the preliminary showed, IntelliNews.

This translated to a 2.9% y/y nominal decline, which followed the 15.5% y/y expansion in nominal terms registered a year earlier. The entity's GDP registered 2.8% annual fall in real terms from the 5.7% hike in 2008.

The Bosnian Federation economy contracted by 2.9% in nominal terms in 2009, following the 13% nominal expansion a year earlier, the Federation statistical office announced in its preliminary data on the entity's national accounts for the last year.
