Talks and contacts in general aimed at overcoming the name issue are taking place in New York under the auspices of UN mediator Matthew Nimetz, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said when asked whether clandestine negotiations were being led according to reports by several Greek and Macedonian media.

- In recent months, Nimetz has been communicating with both sides more actively than in the past. I hope that in the foreseeable future some new developments will emerge. For now, there are no fresh signals, Gruevski stated, adding that he had no information whether Nimetz would visit Skopje.

Commenting the upcoming meeting of the Stabilisation and Association Council in Brussels, the PM said he expected Macedonia's progress to be commended and the country to be further encouraged to successfully complete remaining reforms.
