Romania's Foreign Affairs minstry decided to cut 476 positions in the ministry and from its foreign service, of which only 196 are occupied, Foreign Affairs minister Teodor Baconschi declared. Also, the ministry cut material and functioning costs as well.

The restructure program was realized after an analysis of each department within the ministry afterwhich officials established a minimum necessary of personnel. The ministry expects a saving of 4.7 million lei until the end of the year.
