Turkish President visited Mostar

During his two-day stay in official visit to BiH, president of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gül, accompanied by BiH Presidency Chair Haris Silajdzic visited Mostar on Friday, where he met with the Mayor Ljubo Beslic and Chairman of the City Council of Mostar Murat Coric.

Looking back on a series of constructive talks he had in Sarajevo and Mostar with the leaders of BiH, in the sense of development of future bilateral agreements between Turkey and BiH in the area of economy, culture and education, Gül said that Turkey is open for BiH, and for all its constituent people, and other BiH citizens.
Turkish president assessed it positive that BiH is going in a direction towards the Euro-Atlantic integrations, pointing out that its path towards NATO alliance and European Union will bring stability and secure favorable ground for foreign investments, and by that the economy progress as well.
“I encouraged my interlocutors to persevere in implementing reforms needed for a path towards Euro-Atlantic integrations” president Gül said.
He emphasized that he will ask Turkish businessmen to invest in BiH as much as possible.
Expressing his pleasure because of the visit of Republic of Turkey and over 150 members of Turkish delegation consisted of Ministers in the Turkish government, Parliament delegates and businessmen, Mayor of Mostar Ljubo Beslic said that aside from the visit it is encouraging for Mostar that Turkey will continue realizing the commenced and starting new projects with its development agencies.
“I am especially pleased that the president of Turkey will present our tourism in his country, and that he showed good will to assist in modernizing and restoring Mostar Airport, and restoring certain school facilities”, Mayor Beslic said.
According to the words of Chairman of the City Council of Mostar Murat Coric, continuation of cooperation between Mostar and Turkish city Kayser, a city where Turkish president was born, was discussed as well, which started a series of projects, such as restoration of a Music school and old core of Mostar.
