Serbia's Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic has said that the negotiations about a possible compromise regarding Serbia's proposed UN resolution on Kosovo will be held in Brussels and Washington in the coming days in order to keep protecting the country's national interest and satisfy world powers.

Bogdanovic told Jedinstvo, a Kosovo daily in Serbian, that negotiations between Serbia and Kosovo would be an opportunity to resolve a historical conflict between Serbs and Kosovo Albanians.

Belgrade is willing to talk about Kosovo's status and all other issues, said Bogdanovic, adding that Serbia's good will and sincerity on that are undeniable.

"The sooner a dialogue is started the better, both for Serbs and Kosovo Albanians. Negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina are an opportunity to settle a historical conflict between Serbs and Kosovo Albanians," he noted.

Bogdanovic commented on the resolution as well, saying it should provide an incentive for talks and a mutually acceptable compromise, and that it was formulated as such.

According to the minister, "it is known that after the UN debate, regardless of the vote results, no country in the world is going to change its view on Kosovo over night."

Serbia is never going to recognize Kosovo's independence; it is a red line it will not cross, Bogdanovic stressed.
